An elegant little necklace made with faceted Tanzanite rondelle beads. It’s about 16″ long with sterling silver sections made up of round and barrel shaped beads which create a lovely solid chain effect. It also has some sterling silver rondelle beads sitting neatly among the Tanzanite.
Tanzanite was discovered in 1967 in the hills near Mount Kilimanjaro and was named by Tiffany’s & Co, although it is also known as blue Zoisite. Since it has never been found anywhere else in the world it is predicted that the mines in Tanzania will be depleted within the next 10 years making it thousands of time rarer than diamonds. How could anyone resist making something beautiful with someone so rare.
